I am using Kali Linux in Windows 10 Hyper-V. Last night while updating I encountered error like following:

Any idea how to resolve this?

Edit: I am able to resolve the issue by installing two packages from the repository. They are plymouth-themes and plymouth-x11.

I am having a similar issue after I updated and upgraded this morning. The first thing I noticed was vfs couldn't mount on root file system. I ended up using live to fix that issue. Then I had grub issues, got that fixed. But I am still getting the original error when I try to install a package, because update says all packages up to date, but.... I've used synaptic to see if it could fix the dependencies issue. Any insight would be greatly appreciated5169
