I don't know if the 1.03 version of the i386 ISO contains the bug fix, but I noticed that the missing firmware problem did not go away when Installing directly from the boot menu by choosing Graphic Install. However, if I booted into the Live ISO and chose to install from the Applications Menu, i was able to install and use the broadcom wlan interface.

This same behavior was also obseved in a standard i386 ISO built with live-build.

Hi azbt5,

A friend of mine had the same problem.
All I did was extracting the b43 package into another USB drive and run a fresh installation.
You will get the error, but it will ask you if it should search for the missing files on another drive. Click "Yes" and it will be recognized/installed.
Google-Fu will help you finding the b43 package.
Regards.

Hello!
There is a problem with the installation Kali Linux 1.0.5 32-Bit in graphical mode on an old laptop - does not find a driver for bcm4318 (b43/ucode5.fw b43-open/ucode5.fw).
Eth-network adapter on the laptop is out of order. Show you how to make it work Wi-Fi adapter?
