it's a 32 or 64 bits ? i386 refers to the 32-bit edition and amd64 refers to the 64-bit edition. Do not post the same thread twice !

Download 64 bit version..You can also use the 32 bit version if your machine supports the PAE feature, but in your case, you have a 64 bit hardware...So why installing 32 bit.
I've read some people suggesting (and I include myself) to install 32 bit version in a VM (GUEST) running under a 64bit OS (HOST), but if you want to install it in HDD, use 64bit.
