Hi everyone,
I have seen many posts but neither of the proposed solutions works for me.
So I hope you have some ideas.
I am using Kali 2023:3 and I try to change the keyboard layout to DE.
I ran sudo dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration and it appears to work. /etc/default/keyboard reads:
# KEYBOARD CONFIGURATION FILE
# Consult the keyboard(5) manual page.
XKBMODEL="macbook79"
XKBLAYOUT="de"
XKBVARIANT="mac_nodeadkeys"
XKBOPTIONS=""
BACKSPACE="guess"
However it never works.
When I enter setxkmap de it works. But obviously this is only temporary in this session.
Anyone any idea how to get a permanent german keyboard layout?
