Hello everyone!

This is my first time to use Linux especially Kali. I only have very little knowledge about Linux--really a complete noob. A friend just referred this distro to me. But I couldn't reach him for now since he is on a trip.

Now, I have this problem, which I cannot figure out how to overcome.

It is about my screen display/resolution. It should be 1280x800 but I only have two choices: 1024x768 (4:3) and 800x600 (4:3)

What else do I need to post in this thread for more information about it?

I did:

lspci | grep VGA

and I got this information:

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] 771/671 PCIE VGA Display Adapter (rev 10)

How will I get to 1280x800 display? I've been searching the internet for the past 8 hours on how to get to the solution, but sadly, I couldn't. :(

If somebody can help me, it'll be much appreciated.

Thanks very much!
