View Full Version : Google Chrome as Default Web Browser

Good Afternoon -

I've been using Kali 1.03 on a couple of computers for about a month now and love it! I have been using Google Chrome as my browser and have been running it as the root user by adding the "--user-data-dir" command to the end of the "google-chrome" file in /opt/google/chrome. I've also easily been able to add it to the Applications menu and desktop.

The question I have is how to set it as the default web browser. You cannot do so through System Settings as it's not an option. When in Chrome, I'm prompted to set it as Default and do - but - it doesn't work as when I close and reopen Chrome it prompts me all over again.

I've searched all over for a solution, but haven't been able to find one. Anyone been able to do this?

Thanks!

Sorry too late...
Go to Application > System tools > Preferences > System Setting

Choose Detail in system group and select "Default Application" :D
