Any idea why the format and install on a 500gb 7200rpm laptop drive is taking over 20 hours? This thing has been formatting for over 20 hours and the machine is very fast. quadcore i7 workstation class laptop.

Are you attempting the LVM Install? If so that may be why its taking so long.
