Respected Mods, I recently installed KALI LINUX OS on my Windows PC having "Windows-7 Ultimate(x64)" OS..

I installed the KALI LINUX In VMWARE Software and once after Installing it, when I tried running it, It asked me for the User-Name and Password....

Since I had read the KALI LINUX Documentation before hand, so I knew that The Default USERNAME is "ROOT" (without quotes) and PASSWORD for the same is -- "toor" (without quotes)

But when I tried Entering the same into respective fields, I am getting AUTHENTICATION ERROR and I am simply returned back to the original Login Screen..:( :(

Please Tell me , how can I solve this LOGIN problem , because as per the Documentation my USERNAME and PASSWORDS are right, but then ahy am I not able to LOGIN...??

Necessary Details :

Release - KALI 1.0
Architecture - i386
Window Manager - GNOME
Image Type - ISO
Download Type - Torrent
Error Message - AUTHENTICATION FAILED

Response eagerly awaited...!
Thankyou....:) :)

The username should be "root" (lowercase, without quotes).

If this does not help, try login using single user mode, and reset the password.
