Hello guys,
I have a 32 bit Kali running here, its fine, just have some minor bugs.
But I'm thinking to re-install this to a 64 bit one.

My hd is partitioned in:
1 - /
2 - /root
3 - /tmp
4 - swap

I would like to know how I could install without need to format /root

Thanks in advance.

I have not done that before, but let me give you a piece of advice: Make a /home partition to avoid this issue and do no use a /tmp, since it is erased on every boot.

If I were you, I 'd back up my data, create a /home partition and reinstall (recreate the partition).

Luck my friend.

This is realy what I want to do.
I have a home partition, but as I only use the root user it's /root.

What I'm trying to learn how to do is to mount /root after installing, so I wont need to format it.

The /root folder is your file system. The home folder is actually //root.
Hope this helps...
