Hey, my question is:

I started with windows 8.1.
I partitioned myself a slice of my HDD.
I installed kali.
I didn't install grub because I want to use the windows 8.1 bootloader.
I tried using easyBCD to add kali to the windows bootloader and neither letting easyBCD automatically figure it out or telling it which partition kali was on worked.
(Here's a guide that shows exactly how I tried to use easyBCD. Here (http://www.linuxbsdos.com/2013/03/24/dual-boot-windows-7-and-kali-linux/2/) )
Windows boots just fine. Kali won't boot.
How can I get the windows bootloader to boot kali for me?
Thanks so much!

I haven't tried this, but I did find a tutorial that seems to be what you are looking for:

You need to ask in a Windown forums..This is about linux my friend and not about any Windows issues.

Luck.

Windows guys aren't of help. The bootloader seems to be working. I just don't know how to get it to recognize Kali. That's why I'm here.

That all looks correct, but doesn't work for me.
I'm wondering if I manually edit the windows boot loader like this (http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/data-center/modifying-the-windows-7-boot-loader-with-the-boot-configuration-data-editor-tool/) if it would work.
I'm wondering if someone here knows what I would need to add to the bootloader to make Kali boot.
Do I need to add an .efi file to something, or is it just getting a line of something added to the windows bootloader, and if so what?

Do you have UEFI-GPT setup?.

Yes.
I'm partitioned with GPT, and using UEFI. It's enabled in the BIOS, and windows 8.1 boots fine and I've had it boot ubuntu 13.10 x64 successfully.
