Hello, today i tried to get my wireless working on Kali but to no avail, the problem i seem to be having is the card is not showing up (using iwconfig & airmon-ng).

The wireless card is Atheros AR9485, it comes with the motherboard P8Z77-V Pro

The Kali version is GNOME
I'm running Kali on VMWare

I tried searching through threads, i installed the driver ath9k but that does not seem to work.

I don't know if i have the wrong driver or me just new to Kali, any help to fix this problem would be appreciated.

Edit: Just found out on http://docs.kali.org/troubleshooting/troubleshooting-wireless-driver-issues it states Is Kali a VM? Then, unless your card is USB, it will not be useable

VM's do not recognize internal wifi. Sorry, but this is a widely known issue in VM's.

This is one of the main issues to avoid VM's.

Luck.
