"Could not update .ICEauthority"

I am running v3.10.11. On startup I get the error "Could not update .ICEauthority var/lib/gdm3/.ICEauthority"

I have tried removing .ICEauthority but that doesn't seem to work. I ran "locate .ICEauthority", which found it once in root and once in /var/lib/gdm3. However, when I "ls -al" it doesn't display.

I'm at a dead end. Any insight into how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. Also, when I run "apt-get update" it says it can't resolve.

Let me know what other information I can provide to help get this fixed.
