apt-get update / upgrade not working

Hi!

Searched the forum but found no answer. I have kali linux latest version, and trying to update/upgrade. there's a lot of packages to get but it always fail. I tried the graphical update and command with apt-get update && apt-get upgrade. Even tried with sudo, but no luck. My error is always the same in command:

Error http://http.kali.org/kali/ kali/main kali-linux-full i386 1.40
404 Not Found

Over and over again..

Running the graphical interface gets me a pop-up saying the same..

pls help.

edit: Got all updates narrowed down to 5 failing. Ran aptitude safe-upgrade and managed to update 75 out of 80..

However i still get this on the last 5:

# apt-get upgrade

E: Vissa arkiv kunte inte hämtas. Prova att köra "apt-get update" eller med --fix-missing.


sorry this is in swedish, but i can't change languageon my kali, it just returns to swedish. Really hope someone can help me anyway.

Don't mean to hijack your post but I have the exact same issue pertaining to the same packages. I have no solution at all. It has been running stable for over a year and suddenly it broke.

Found solution by changing mirror.
apt-get update/upgrade and dist-upgrade run perfect. I now have an up to date kali system :)

Care to share how you did? Found a similar tip that helped me change to 8.8.8.8 google, but mine is still broken. How and to what (if no secret) did you change?

Found solution by changing mirror.
apt-get update/upgrade and dist-upgrade run perfect. I now have an up to date kali system :)

(use VPN; some contry can't update the sys , i'm from morocco and i use USA VPN

i have the same problem i thing the problem is the server of the repository, it bring an outdated packets for some country

the solution is using a VPN now i m using a USA VPN and i resolve this problem

apt-get dist-update , if don't work redownload kali with latest version

I get the error like this:
