Top Panel Controls and Launchers

I have a couple of usability questions...

One thing I really liked about BT, was the ability to right click on the background to create a launcher. I could also right click on the top panel to control panel stuff.
How can I get these features back in Kali? Are there packages I can add, or configure?

open terminal type alacarte

choose section in which u want to add u r application after that click on left hand side add button and from there u will now what to do ..hope this will help

give this a try it will make a launcher on the desktop

gnome-desktop-item-edit /root/Desktop --create-new

for the the panels just alt + right click to acces the edit menu
