i7 3930k
a single GTX 660 w/ 2GB
256GB SSD

I got the "no screens found" error. Kali kept trying to boot so I saw the message several times. I didn't write down the codes, but they were the same each time Xorg tried finding a screen.

What causes this, and is there a way to fix it?
Something like using a different display driver in the ISO?
Thanks.

Hi there,

You will need to post error codes and logs for any useful answers.

Can you boot into recovery? Or does ctrl + alt + f1 give you terminal?
If neither of those work, boot into live mode and retrieve the /var/log/xorg log files and post them

Thanks.

Fatal server error
Caught signal 11(seg fault) server aborting
(debconf:1978) Gtk-WARNING cannot open display: :0

This message lasted a full second or so then the screen blanked rapidly,
showing the same message but with a different debconf error (debconf:xxxx) each time.
This lasted for a few minutes.

I can open a terminal with Ctrl+Alt+F2. F1 is the problem screen.
How can I retrieve the xorg log from the install USB (w/o encrypted persistence)?
