Dear friends
I can't shutdown my laptop (Acer Aspire E1-470). It always restart after the system shutdown. Even
I have tried with shutdown -h now and poweroff however It didn't work for me too. can anyone help me?

Holding power button is one of the last resort, when it has not gained a solution.. :D I hope if there are friends in this forum who had experienced the same problem, they can share their experiences how to solve this stuff...

@staticn0de: I had run the command you mentioned as well. Even, It has been re-installed for 3 times with the ISO file which had been verified. However there has been no change. :'(

Hey,
Few more unorthodox things to try.
Press control + alt + f1 and then /etc/init.d/gdm3 stop
Once gdm3 has stopped, use shutdown -h now.
Other things,
Kill network manager and try to shutdown.
It may also be a bios setting. Something like wake on lan waking it up, maybe try and reset to defaults?
