so I just finished updating my source list with some links found in a forum, I updated and did sudo apt-get install network-manager-openvpn-gnome and the update to an hour, it was installing things that were completely irrelevant to openvpn. anyway when it was finished I was on youtube and out of nowhere my computer just cuts off, didnt overheat or anything, just shut off. I turned it back on and grub brings me to this black screen saying "kali gnu/linux 1.0.8 hiding-hp tty3. now last night it was tty1 but its asking for my login. I tried all the startup commands and everything. is there a way I can reinstall kali with a command? or can I do something to fix this? please help asap, I dont wanna pay over $100 to get windows again, yes I installed kali.

Adding additional non kali repos, is not supported.

Any additional repositories added to the Kali sources.list file will most likely BREAK YOUR KALI LINUX INSTALL.

Without knowing what you installed when you did the upgrade its hard to help you.
Easiest way (and probably quickest way) is to wipe and start fresh.
