The install failed with a status 7 error. I tried looking at the updater-script but it does not include assert sections. I've also tried allowing unsigned zip install but still get the same status 7 errors. Any ideas?

Would you be able to provide an install log so we could kinda see what is going on? If you haven't tried it already, re-download the Kali NetHunter package.

Could you give more details what device/rom you are installing to.

I've re-downloaded the image and will try it again in the morning with a fresh factory base to start with. I will keep people posted. Hopefully I can share something helpful with others!

So I've done the following:

1. Imaged my Nexus 7 (2013) back to the stock image
2. Re-downloaded the Nethunter image
3. Unlocked and rooted the device
4. Installed TWRP
5. Copied the Nethunter image to the device
6. Launched TWRP and chose the Nethunter zip file to install
7. The device rebooted with the Android character and a red triangle
8 The install appeared to have failed at that point

Any ideas?

SOLVED!

Went to the TWRP site and found this:

"Install the app and open it. Tap on Install TWRP. Select your device from the device list (flo) and then tap on Install Recovery. The file will download and be installed automatically."

I'll have to re-read through the instructions on the Nethunter site, but this is what I was missing.

Hope this helps others who can't follow directions like me :)
