I've installed Kali 1.09 64b with dual boot (with windows 8.1) to a Dell laptop inspiron 15 3521 with Intel HD 3000. Everything works great except the brightness, which i am unable to control with the Fn button + the f shortcut for brightness or otherwise, while it shows the bar changes, virtually the brightness still stays unchanged.
I've already tried to edit the grub file so that the line (http://www.killerintech.com/screen-brightness-adjustment-problem-of-hp-probook-in-kali-linux-ubuntu/): GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash" will be GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash acpi_backlight=vendor" but no success here (Kali not even boot then "waiting for /dev to be fully populated"). xbacklight doesn't work either.
Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
