I bought a USB OTG Y cable that has a male USB for charging. On the Nethunter home page it says the kernel includes y-cable charging support, however it doesn't seem to work for me.
I'm using a Nexus 7 2013 flo.

Is there any way to make it work?

I found this image, looking at Option 1: https://timur.mobi/img/otg-chrg-nex7.jpg

Does that mean I could solder the positive and negative from the male USB to the + and - of the female USB OTG cable and charging would work?

I also had NetHunter on a Nexus 7 2013 and the OTG Y cable charging was very hit or miss. I tried three different cables and one of them worked a couple times, but never consistently. One bit of advice that I did hear was to make sure the cable is plugged into the power source before plugging it into the tablet. This didn't work 100% of the time for me though.
