Wierd looking menu

After installing Kali i had no issues.
Then after installing virtual box with along with dkms to help it run.

I seem to get a weird looking menu after i reboot my machine.
Notice how its black and has white patchey spots. What is the deal with this menu? Can something recommend a fix?

Cant really tell with the photo, the resolution is a bit low for my bad eyes. But perhaps you can mess with some of the visual settings to see if you can find something more to your liking?
