View Full Version : Bricked Metasploit by being stupid

2015-03-12, 19:40

I just tried to run some Updates on Nethunter, and in a moment of mental illness :( , I did not use the Kali Menu to run the update but I just typed within a ssh msfupdate.

Now Metasploit will not start anymore after pulling some updates.

So, now I get this while I try to start Metasploit.

$ service metasploit start
[ ok ] Starting Metasploit rpc server: prosvc.
[....] Starting Metasploit web server: thin/opt/metasploit/ruby/lib/ruby/2.1.0/rubygems/core_ext/kernel_require.rb:55:in `require': cannot load such file -- bundler/setup (LoadError)
from /opt/metasploit/ruby/lib/ruby/2.1.0/rubygems/core_ext/kernel_require.rb:55:in `require'
from /opt/metasploit/apps/pro/ui/scripts/ctl.rb:30:in `start_thin'
from /opt/metasploit/apps/pro/ui/scripts/ctl.rb:47:in `<main>'

Anyone a hint, how I can fix that? Is there a way how I can reset the Nethunter Metasploit Installation without reinstalling the whole device?

apt-get remove metasploit && apt-get install metasploit

If that still does not fix it then apt-get remove metasploit --purge && apt-get install metasploit

if that don't work then try google....

hope this helped
