View Full Version : Help Needed Please - AWUSO36H/Airmon-ng Wifi Card Causing Kernel Panic

Hello!

Sorry that it's long - can't find the command that lets you hide stuff in text-boxes.

My card used to work, but now it doesn't. I've run updates and updated to the latest airmon-ng, as well as apt-get update && upgrade etc.
I've tried to follow the troubleshooting steps which were stickied, however at one step, when I tried to test if injections worked (or so),
I got a kernel panic. System shutdown. I'm dual-booting Kali with Win 8. If I try airmon-ng start wlan1, the terminal just explodes with text.
So I have to split this post in two, to give you all the information.

The mesh_id is used only for mesh mode.

Join the IBSS cell with the given SSID, if it doesn't exist create

if it has higher TSF and the same SSID. If an IBSS is created, create
it with the specified basic-rates, multicast-rate and beacon-interval.

Enable WoWLAN with the given triggers.
Each pattern is given as a bytestring with '-' in places where any byte
may be present, e.g. 00:11:22:-:44 will match 00:11:22:33:44 and
00:11:22:33:ff:44 etc.

Do NOT screenscrape this tool, we don't consider its output stable.

Can anybody help? I've been searching for solutions constantly. Not just with this issue either. I'm far from a Linux-expert, so some help would be very appreciated.
I know this is thread 999999 billion on this topic, so I'm sorry for that. But I'm not getting anywhere and that sucks. I'm not sure if this should be in the General Use
forum or not, as it's perhaps partially a Kali problem if I get a kernel panic, no? If I'm wrong, I'd appreciate a move instead of a delete :).

I don't know if things look alright or not. I do know however, that I get an error when I try to install the 3.0 drivers from here:
