Hello guys,

I've downloaded kali linux 1.0.2 but when I try to boot up and when I select the graphical install I get an error of the Release file.
Now I'm extracting the iso via Universal USB installer and I got some errors

I'm sure I've downloaded the iso perfectly without any damage.
oh yeah its this one: kali-linux-1.0.2-i386.iso

I've tried the previous version but that wouldn't allow me to install it, the installation always failed.
And when I started that one up I got an error for a firmware thingy.

this one:
rt2561s.bin

is it possible to put it on the install usb or do I need an extra storage device?

kind regards,
Iced

You do not have to extract anything..Just copy the ISO into the USB memory...

Please, refer to the wiki...Only 2 methods are mentioned to make it work properly. And Universal USB Installer is not one of them.

Luck.

1. Download Rufus usb creator from here:
http://rufus.akeo.ie/
2. Select your usb stick under device
3. File system set to Fat32
4. Under format options select only quick format and the create bootable usb using: select iso image and then browse to your Kali linux iso
5. Hit start and wait for it to finish. That's it! Now shutdown and then boot your comp from usb.
