Can start in Live SafeMode but not in normal Live

Hi. I can start Kali Linux in Live Safe Mode from a usb on windows, but when I try using the Live Mode without Safe, all I get is an squiggily picture (repeating image) with 5 to 6 mouse pointers. All I can do is control/alt/delete to shutdown.

Any suggestions? Safe mode is ok, but I'd like to see the entire "Live AMD 64" (even though I'm using Intel)
