Boot hung at loading initial ramdisk

Hi
I just did a fresh install of Kali 2.0 on my secondary HDD and everything with the install seemed fine. When I try to boot up to it I am constantly stuck at
"Loading initial ramdisk". For shits and giggles I even left it for an hour to see if it will get past that but nothing.
Anyone else have this issue and if so where you able to solve it?

I am currently experiencing the same problem. Did you ever find a solution?

for now, go to advanced options...second line in grub...enter.
then move down to 4.3.0 kernel option...either normal or recovery...enter
if it boots, huzzah...if not, come back here and tell us the whys and wherefores.
it is my understanding that kernel 4.4.0 still has a few "issues"
