I run Kali 2.0 in persistence on my Macbook Pro Retina. Under Kali 1.x, things were fine.

Under 2.0, I get these odd intermittent freezes. The mouse works, but apps will freeze - Iceweasel is the most notable, but I see nmap freeze, or terminal, or other things, too.

Things seem to get better if I let the system run longer...which bolsters the case that this could be related to background reindexing. But...still.

Others have seen this and suggested GNOME upgrades or killing off various background processes, but it doesn't feel that we have a clean consensus yet.

Anyone else see this?

I can confirm, intermittent freezes. Running amd64 fully installed on a netbook, had no problems with 1.10 or earlier.

I confirm FREEZES too.
It's anoying.

Overall, I still prefer version 1.1.
I hope things will change.

Nouveau seems to be acting up. Do you have a gpu on that pc? If so, blacklist nouveau modules and install proprietary drivers.
