When I run Kali on a virtual machine and try to run the two commands that I need to start armitage. I get this.
first command
service postgresql start
nothing happens it waits for a few seconds and no error just nothing, when I type the second command
service metasploit start
i get an error message
Failed to start metasploit.service: Unit metasploit.service failed to load: No such file in the directory
when I try to install kali on my laptop I get a grey screen and nothing happens. This is after the installation when it loads up.
I tried running vmware from https://www.offensive-security.com/kali-linux-vmware-arm-image-download/ these images and I tried to run it from the installation cd by going into live cd in vmware. I get the same thing.
I am not a hacker. I just want to see if I can break into my laptop with armitage on the same network. So far I have spent almost all day downloading installing.
