So I installed everything just fine (kali 2), when I come to the login screen in the GUI I can't login whatever credential I put inside. I thought maybe my password was not set correctly so I went in CTRL-ALT-F1 , surprise I can login perfectly fine..
I'm a little bit mystified, I searched on google for almost 2h, couldn't find any solution.
I already tried
auth required pam_succeed_if.so user != root quiet but this line is not inside my gdm-password file.
I tried to change password for a basic 123 just to be sure to avoid any keyboard language related error, then login username root and Root and the one I set at the beginning.
I don't know where to search anymore and I can't wrap my head around why is my password working in the terminal but not in the GUI....
