Hi !
While i was installing kali from a pendrive the installer see the pendrive as dev/sda and the hard drive as dev/sdb.
For example the installer asked me where to install grub showing both drives hard disk and pendrive with their proper hardware names.
After reboot i removed the pendrive and kali doesn't boot. Instead it does while the pen is plugged in.
This is the fdisk -l output:

:~# fdisk -l

After installation kali recognizes drives the way they are how is it ... ????
Thanks !

"For example the installer asked me where to install grub showing both drives hard disk and pendrive with their proper hardware names."
and where you install grub? on hdd or usb?
I am thinking (not sure 100%) that boot repair can fix those problem
http://sourceforge.net/projects/boot-repair-cd/
try it
