View Full Version : Kali on usb decides when it wants to show on screen. Why?
I finally managed to get Kali Linux 2.0 mounted with the dd command onto my usb and booted from my MacBook Pro. I got Kali up and running (apart from the wireless, but thats another thread.) Now, I am booting from usb and all I get is a black screen. Kali randomly decides to show on my screen and other times, the black screen. Nothing has been changed. What could be the cause of this?
Did you check/verify the iso SHA1Sum before imaging the usb? I suspect your iso is corrupted.
yes i did and it came up as genuine. mmm
Everything you describe it is happen to most Mac users. Why is that? I don't know. Maybe some kind of bug.
Only what I can suggest you to read here on forum how users solve Kali Installation on Mac and
little investigate, try another img, try another usb stick
I am downloading the img from the official website https://www.kali.org/.
Surely, that is the one. Or is there another place for me to download it from, which can be a true Kali Linux img
?
Downloaded, verified and installed Kali-2.0 again. Used a different flash stick.
I dual boot and EFI Boot menu shows up. Then I click on Live(amd64) and I get a black screen with a thin blue line at the top and the words 'loading /live/vmlinuz...' shows up on the bottom left of the screen but nothing else happens. I have been searching but can not find any solutions.
help !
