View Full Version : installing from cd made from mini.iso fails at "select a mirror"

I've always had trouble with debian installers at the point where I'm supposed to select a mirror. It happens the same way on 2 different machines, so maybe it has something to do with my Belkin router or my ISP. Installing Debian itself in the past, I've been able to get around this 2 ways:
-Try every choice in turn and eventually one of them works
-or-
-Convince the installer to skip this step
Trying to install Kali from a cd made from the mini.iso, I can't get ANY of the mirrors to work and either there is some trick to getting it to skip that step that I've forgotten or it doesn't work with Kali. It might have something to do with resolving domain names because I couldn't get that to work automatically either. I tried putting in an IP that was in /etc/resolv.conf in my Ubuntu 14.04 but that didn't help.

So, any suggestion on getting the installer to work would be on interest.

you need working internet connection for that.
also you can skip this step and finish installation and after that use
http://sourceforge.net/projects/boot-repair-cd/
to repair boot.
when you finished with boot reapir, you need to add good source list in Kali
