Kali will boot but once used will black screen

I created a live usb and am able to boot Kali but once I start to use it the screen goes black. I've tried redoing the usb using the light and regular version. To be clear it's not before logining in that the screen goes black. It loads and shows the desk top but once I start moving the mouse the screen goes black seconds afterwards. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!
