Hello,

I have Kali Linux 2.0 installed directly to hard disk of a desktop computer, i also have installed Virtual Box 5.0.14 running vulnerable virtual machine CentOS 7 inside Kali OS with a Host only Adapter setting ( with internet turned off )i can ping, ssh, connect vm's inside virtual box from kali however i cannot ping back from CentOS to kali.now this is a big disadvantage for me during pentest because am unable to get a reverse shell on kali terminal during pentest, but everything works fine when network adapter is set to BRIDGED both host & guest can communicate successfully as kali is connected to internet & i dont think its a good idea during pentest as machine is always hooked to internet for communication to work. how can i establish a two way communication between kali & virtual box without being connected to outside network ? what adapter setting i should be used in virtualbox for this to work ?

Regards
rower

Try making the virtual hardware to
Take automated DHCP ip
Try auto occupy DHCP ip
In both Kali and the cent OS
Or try refreshing the DHCP pool
While this please disable bridge settings
It may cause conflicts
