Hello all,

I've been having some unexpected issues with Kali when I try to boot up a Live session or try to install it as a second operating system on my laptop.
Whether I choose UEFI or 'regular' boot option from USB stick it gets stuck while initializing at around the same line [please see attached image].

I have tried with the USB boot stick created with Rufus v2.7 in both ISO [recommended] and DD image mode, both fail at initializing.
I do get the screen where I can choose whether to start a live session, troubleshoot or install but that's about as far as it goes.

My laptop is Asus ROG 552VW with the following hardware:

Processor
Intel® Core™ i7 6700HQ Processor

Chipset
Intel® HM170 Chipset
Intel® HD Graphic 530

Memory
DDR4 2133 MHz SDRAM, 16 GB SDRAM

Graphic
NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 960M with 2G GDDR5 VRAM

Networking
Integrated 802.11 ac (Intel Dual Band-AC 8260)
Built-in Bluetooth™ V4.0

I would also add that I have the latest BIOS version from Asus and that even with default settings it still fails.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thats a Hardware error.....
Try changing Bios settings reset - default and
and try plugging into other available USB ports

remove hub from system and use only direct usb port on MB
and off course use only legacy support in bios
