Dear kali community,
I'm using a Nexus 6 with stock ROM (Android 6.0.1 MMB29Q) at the moment. I installed Elemental X 3.10.40 N6-3.08 via TWRP 3.0.0 and updatet via EX Kernel Manager to 3.09. Rooted via SuperSU 2.65. Busyboy Pro installed. I also installed Kali Nethunter 3.0.5.

Problem at the moment is: My wifi stick TP-Link TL-WN722N is not recognized any longer as wifi extension, when checking via iwconfig, no "wlan1" is shown.
The stick is found when checking dmesg and even via lsusb. Everything seems fine. I don't know what I have changed except updating the kernel.

When entering lsmod or lsmod | grep -i ath9k to check the modules, I get:
libkmod: ERROR ../libkmod/libkmod-module.c:1638 kmod_module_new_from_loaded: could not open /proc/modules: No such file or directory
Error: could not get list of modules: No such file or directory

I also tried a Alfa AWUS036N wifi module. Same thing. Not found via iwconfig, found via lsusb and dmesg.

For me, this looks like a kernel problem. I stepped back to 3.08 from 3.09 but nothing changed.
I tried switching USB debug mode on and off. Tried changing USB configuration in developer settings (MTP, PTP, RNDIS, ...). Tried a Y cable to add more power. Nothing helped.

Now I'm hoping you can help me with that.
I'm thankful for every idea and hint from you.
Many thanks in advance and best regards
Muhackl

It seems it's been hard blocked by rfkill
Try # sudo rfkill list
If your device is listed their as blocked
Then
#sudo rfkill unblock wifi
#sudo rfkill unblock all
#sudo reboot now
If it doesn't work rmove the rfkill config file file

I've had the same issue and it turned out I was using the wrong kernel. You do need to use the kernel that comes with Nethunter because it contains the mac80211 injection patch. Does your kernel have any mac80211 patch? Otherwise you can patch it yourself.

Tried NH 3 on both cm12.1 and cm13 on the oneplus One and I didnt have such options..maybe its something related to your make then..it'd be good to know more about this

He's using images that are built with Aroma. I could do that, but it's useless. If you want to modify your boot-animation why not just edit it via apps you can download via Play Store?

What is exactly your kernel? You can check that via "About Phone". Post it here so we could check if that's the right one. Also, get on Freenode IRC, channel is #nethunter. It will be easier to everyone to try and help you in real time, rather then just writings posts on forums and wait for replies to come.
