the special keys (fn & ctrl) are not working on my nexus >>kali linux nethunter

the special keys are not working on my nethunter
They used to work

I have tried
going to Preferences (keyboard section) > Fn key & Control key and setting them to none
I restarted the phone
changed them back to volume up/down respectively and they still don't work.

Is there an easy fix for this?


(easy test, start wifite then hit
volume down + c = cancel in linux > ctrl+c
and it should stop the program, if it doesn't then your control keys have either been changed or are also broken)

I had to download a new keyboard. It seems to be a new update for the stock one causing the issue so I found the Go keyboard that has useful features like a screen with the arrows and and tab but the voldown+c still work for cancel, volup+t still works for tab, volup+w for arrow up etc...hope this helped
