Just a quick question . Lets say i want to install the 1.0.7 version cos i prefer the desktop environment more , if i upgrade the sources list to kali rolling , will i loose the 1.0.7 desktop ?

I don't think so, since the latest Kali has multiple GUIs with it. Not certain, though.

Not sure what you mean by 1.0.7 desktop?
Do you mean the gnome? And/or its look/theme?

Either way, there's been a lot of package updates since 1.0.7, so good chance something will be 'different'.
Backup your data, upgrade & find out ;) Don't like it? Just restore.

yes , i like the UI of 1.0.7 more , but it will change if i add the new repos though...
