Hi bbehi1979,

Most routers will have the pin listed either within the admin interface (most Netgears in my experience) or on a label on the device itself if not both of these. Looking at your router's manual, it appears you can find this on a label next to the WPS button.

Please see: http://setuprouter.com/router/technicolor/tg799vn-v2/manual-1059.pdf - You'll find what you need in page 53 (labelled as 45).

You're welcome. As far as I'm aware (unless anybody can correct me?), you're pretty much limited to WPS cracking. I'd say you've got two options at current:

1. See if your router is supported by DD-WRT / OpenWrt or something similar (I had a quick look; it doesn't look promising but only did the one quick search so I may be wrong)

2. Crack the WPS pin yourself - I can't find any info on the firmware version to check the date but if you say it's an old router, you may hopefully find it's vulnerable to the pixie attack (https://forums.kali.org/showthread.php?24286-WPS-Pixie-Dust-Attack-(Offline-WPS-Attack)). First take a look at https://forums.kali.org/showthread.php?26657-WPS-Pin-crack-latest-techniques (The post is about a year old but will give you a good starting point). If not, you'll need to brute force with something like reaver. There is a ton of How-To articles and videos out there on the current WPS attacks, follow one through if you get stuck.

If you do try, let me know if you successfully get it and which method was easiest for you :)

thank you . the best method i used to break the wps pin is the wps breaker its a good one , but in ths roteur TG799vn v2 it didnt work even if the wps is activated , the wps breaker cant show the pin , i dont know if there is other method to force this router to show the pin.

Hey,

Sorry to hear that hasn't worked for you, I've also found the process to be a little hit or miss with some routers but if WPS is enabled, keep trying and there will be a way in one way or another - all depends on how important getting in is I guess. Unfortunately, I can't really suggest much more that will help; I don't know enough about the router but if you desperately need the pin and you're up for learning / playing then you may find an accessible serial port (most routers I've opened up have the headers on the circuit board although some rare ones provide ports on the back).

Essentially, you would use something Putty (values probably won't work but an intro into this is at http://www.omnisecu.com/cisco-certified-network-associate-ccna/how-to-use-putty-to-configure-or-monitor-a-cisco-router-or-switch.php) to initiate a serial connection with the router - you'll need a serial to USB cable to do this. I'm afraid I can't help with using the terminal interface as I've only followed a few guide on this myself but there is a lot of information out there about routers and serial connections if you're serious. In all honesty though, I think you would be better buying a cheap router that supports DD-WRT as it would be a lot less hassle.

If you do eventually get in one way or another, I would be very interested to here how :)
