Is it possible to use a HyperVisor inside Kali Live Boot(w/ persistent storage)?

Let's assume that I have already created a Kali Linux “Live” USB drive as described in the kali website and I want to use a Hyper Visor(e.g. VirtualBox) to run VMs(inside the kali live with persistent storage), Is that possible? I know that the hypervisor presents the guest operating systems with a virtual operating platform and manages the execution of the guest operating systems, but I have no idea if the Hyper Visor will work inside a live boot.
