I just created a bootable Kali Linux AMD64 on my usb. When I boot as a Live, it doesn't show any wireless connection. it only showes settings for wired connections. I also tried 'iwconfig' but it gives "no wireless interface". I also follows the steps on internet about compat drivers but it just brings two options in my settings wlan0 and wlan1. When I try to connect using any one of em it just opens a dialog box stuck on "searching".

Compat wireless was older and outdated version designed to make wifi adapter compatible with older kernel versions. They were later revoked from the package and now their new realease is known as backports. You require neither of them if your kernel is of newer version or recently launched.

Can you show the output of rfkill list all?
