Hi Guys,

I am new to this forum and have done some extensive research on how to get Wireless 8260 working, bit nothing worked. I have installed this on VMware® Workstation 12 Pro and have tried various steps like, apt-get install, update, upgade, compat, rfkill, upgrading to latest kernels, downloaded drivers related to 8260 from manufacturer's website. But still I am unable to get this to work. I am totally blocked from my studies. Can someone please help me fix this? Few outputs below for your reference.

There are no wifi drivers installed in your PC. Download proprietary drivers of your wifi adapter from here (https://wireless.wiki.kernel.org/en/users/drivers/iwlwifi) and copy them in /lib/firmware. Also run this command to install them apt-get install firmware-iwlwifi.
