I try to install Kali 64 bit Light, my plan is dualboot with ubuntu 16.04.

Do you see Kali linux in boot menu options? Boot menu options contains all the bootloaders you have installed.

Just make a separate root (and also home, eventually) partition. Kali is Ubuntu-like (or based) but there won't be real conflicts.
You can also install the software from Kali into your normal Ubuntu distro and simply change the interface on logon. Though there can exist only one display manager, most likely lightdm if you don't install something else like kdm, gdm...
Another option (advanced) is to use chroot for the secondary system. You need to learn about chroot, su, startx...
