Slow mouse transition between guest and host - vmware

Everything is working OK on my Kali 2017 install on VMWare Player except when i slide the mouse from the guest to the host (Win 10 64bit) or visa versa, the mouse pauses for 1/2 a second at the edge of the vm window before carrying on. It doesn't sound much but it actually very annoying. It doesn't happen with my Windows vm's.

Any ideaS?
