Just out of curiousity what version of kali where they using in the T.V show Mr.Robot. Sana? looks to be an older one, older than 2016.
They are using that much older version of kali for offense which itself make them vulnerable to attacks. If Mr.Robot was real he would be hacked more than he attempted hacking.

I am pretty sure that they know that it is with apt dist-upgrade and not with "upgrade" that you update your kernel and distribution version. :;)
