View Full Version : Kali Linux MATE - No networking!!

For a while now, the MATE ISO is released with absolutely no networking functionality. I don't know if this is an oversight or a communication issue, but it is increasingly aggravating.

I posted on Dojero's thread to share my experience but since I was never approved by a mod the thread remained quiet.

Before anyone replies, do not reply with "is your computer plugged in" stuff. This is not a hardware issue. The default Kali ISO works just fine. This is an issue with the release of MATE.

The lack of wpa_supplicant & network-manager etc, leaves the MATE release with no networking. You can't use usb tether, ethernet or wifi.

Strangely enough, networking works fine during the usb installation, and once the computer restarts any network capability is gone.

I would greatly appreciate some feedback on this. It seems this issue has been unanswered for far too long.

Thank you.

Why not just post a bug report in the bug tracker?

Why not just post a bug report in the bug tracker?

That's not a bad idea, will get on it now!
