Hi,
I mam using kali linux and when i try to connect to wi-fi network i see the little green orb turning but nothing happens.

I am running kali on raspberry pi 3 - 4.9.59-v7_Re4son-Kali-Pi+
I control it via vcserver

When i click the connection icon on the top right and edit the connection - entering the correct wi-fi password myself i can connect.

Why don't i get a prompt to enter the wifi password when trying to connect?

I also made sure to delete all previous connections uner:

/etc/network/interfaces

is there another wifi setting file which loaded and prevents the password query?

Thank you,

can it be connected to the fact that i am getting the following messages when i try to open, e.g. gvim or wireshark:

Xlib: extension "XInputExtension" missing on display ":1.0".
& also:
Xlib: extension "RANDR" missing on display ":1.0".
