I have purchased realvnc commercial version to host a vnc server on my kali linux box which is fully up to date with kali 2018.2 as of May 3rd, 2018 - apt-get upgrade and apt-get dist-upgrade.

When i try to install it there is a conflict warning, forcing the install with the .deb package from realvnc allows it to be run fine. Doing any apt-get upgrades i am forced to uninstall realvnc. If i try and uninstall tightvnc the entire distro is triggered for removal.

I have not been able to find a way to install realvnc and uninstall tighvnc.

Edit - for anyone else having this problem just download and install the generic version and use the install script

:)
