Hello for everyone!
I'll hear your Alfa NHR (Realtek RTL8187L) and NHR v2 (Realtek RTL8188RU) chipset Wi-Fi adapters experience. I have both and my experience was horrible. NHR was unusefull, makes a lot of heat, cycling problems, drop connection problems and other... NHR v2 was nothing better, that v2 version isn't improve anything. I've tried a lot of things to do: changed 10 usb cables with min cable lenght, bought usb hub 2A, bought Y cable connector, tired all drivers... Problem was chipset definitelly. My other Wi-Fi adapter works perfect without all these. I think ALFA stops product adapters with RTL8187L and RTL8188RU chipset. Today Alfa NH uses Ralink 3070L chipset. Anyone know something about this action? What do you thing about all? Anyone using NHR or NHR v2? I've spent money for nothing. You can share your experiences :D

NHR is not RTL8187L, it is RTL8188RU as you can see on wikidevi: https://wikidevi.com/wiki/ALFA_Network_AWUS036NHR_v1

The AWUS036H was RTL8187L.

Just FYI, Alfa produces cards with a number of different chipset (much more than the few that you mention).

In your case, the ralink is most likely much better than those slightly different versions of 8188.

Alfa has stopped product Wi-Fi adapters with 8187L and 8188RU chipset. These chipset are horrible!!! Alfa uses 3070L chipset now. I'm using Wi-Fi adapter with Ralink 3072L chipset. Everything works perfect!!!
Have you ever used any Alfa Wi-Fi Adapter?
