I have a asus rog laptop equipped with ssd+hdd i7 and gtx 1070. After dual boot win10 and kali, I am unable to adjust brightness on kali, the slider seems to slow mode drag across the slider and it has no effect in controlling the brightness. Does kali use my i7 integrated graphic or discrete graphic to control the brightness.

Things I tried:
-install xbacklight no effect
- went into /sys/class/backlight and edited quiet splash video.use_native_backlight=1 acpi_backlight=vendor
save and rebooted and nothing happen
-tried https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1249219/comments/30 but it just crashed my system.

I have tried many things and non of them work, can someone help me figure what's going on?
I read some article here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/backlight
saying on the tip there it said I need to:
"Tip:

On Nvidia Optimus laptops, the kernel parameter nomodeset can interfere with the ability to adjust the backlight.
On an Asus notebooks you might also need to load the asus-nb-wmi kernel module (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Kernel_module).

"

But I don't quite understand what I need to do that's why I am reaching to ask if anyone can help me figure this out. I am willing to pay anyone for their time and effort on helping me resolve this issue thanks.
